A spectacular hydraulic jump at the end of a spillway.
When this picture was posted in eFluids gallery in Nov. 2000, the location
of this dam was not known. However, one of the eFluids user (Dr. Nehemias
Lacerda of Brazil, Dec. 8, 2001) identified it as Itaipu Dam, and provided the
following details. Volume at maximum normal level is 30
giga cubic meters, maximum width = 12 km, surface (maximum operating level)
1460 km^2, and present power output = 12.6 Giga Watts.
