This picture is a side view of a lifting surface undergoing a pitching maneuver
while being towed from right to left in a water tank. Pre-existing,
horizontal dye layers are illuminated using a vertical sheet of laser
light. The picture clearly depicts the time-dependent vortices forming as a
result of the wing maneuver.
