Procedure:
Poke a hole in the center one piece of paper.
Insert the straw into the hole so that paper is at one end of
the straw. Hold the paper/straw combo about a centimeter above
the second piece of paper and blow through the straw.
The lower piece of paper will rise to meet the paper/straw combo.
Explanation: Generally speaking, the greater
a fluid’s velocity, the lower it’s pressure. So
the high velocity air exiting the straw has a lower pressure
than the surrounding air. Consequently the lower piece of paper
has lower pressure air above and higher pressure air below which
forces it to up.
