Research Communications provides a fast means of communication and exchange
of ideas among workers in mechanics, and offers an effective method of bringing
new results quickly to the public. By doing so the journal establishes an
informal vehicle for the discussion of ideas that may still be in the formative
stages. The journal encompasses the behaviour of fluids, solids, particles,
continua, rigid bodies, mechanisms, systems and so forth, enabling the field of
mechanics to be understood in a broad sense. It will include theoretical and
experimental results, and fundamental and practical research.
