Large Eddy Simulation

“Large Eddy Simulation” refers to simulation of turbulent fluid flow wherein the spatial and temporal resolution is chosen so as to resolve only the large, energy containing scales in the flow. For the smaller scales that cannot be resolved, subgrid scale turbulence models are employed to account for the effect of these scales on the resolved scales.
